The Race for Science returns to Zaragoza!

We encourage you to participate in this popular sporting event running through the Ebro River Campus and its surroundings, supporting and making visible the scientific work as well as, transmitting healthy lifestyle habits that are developed in our community.
“We intend to organize a sporting, collaborative, supportive and sustainable event, which enables the maximum participation of people linked to SCIENCE and those others who, with their participation, claim greater visibility, social and institutional support to this.”
The Race for Science is organized by the University of Zaragoza, the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (ITAINNOVA) and the Centro de Empresas e Innovación de Aragón (CEEIARAGON), and is held thanks to the sponsorship of Certest Biotec, CEEIARAGON company, and the support of several collaborating entities and individuals.
The race consists of a simple urban route that, as it could not be otherwise, has a very significant distance: 6.28 km, that is, 2 π. Most of the route runs through the Ebro River Campus, starting from Mariano Esquillor Gómez street and bordering the facilities of ITAINNOVA and CEEIARAGON. The last part of the circuit crosses the Betancourt building with a great final straight to the Plaza de las Ingenierías.
In this way, it has been created an affordable route for anyone, but it can also be motivating for those who are used to running. This competition is open to all citizens over 16 years of age, and can be participated individually or in groups, linking up with a team. Teams will be formed by people who belong to entities related to science and/or innovation: research group, university department, university center, company or other organization in the sector.
Those who participate will receive a welcome pack, which includes a technical t-shirt of the celebration, will have the opportunity to leave their belongings in the checkroom and use the changing rooms and showers set up for the occasion. In addition, after the race they will be able to enjoy refreshments at the finish line, entertainment and raffles of gifts.
